Sway me more….

Earlier this year I invested in 50’s style underskirt to go with a swing dress. Little did I know how enamoured I would ge one with it’s flouncy loveliness. It feels amazing. With every movement I swing & sway.

Me being me I am tickled by notion of mixing things that really shouldn’t go together. Thus the ultimate floaty skirt found itself teamed with an avid yellow vest & customised nirvana tee.

One look that picture tells you all you need to know about how much one enjoyed this outfit. I wish I could feel like that everyday.

Who you gonna call?……

On a search for a nice place to walk Seb my sister & I stumbled upon this beautiful park. It’s local, but we had no idea how lovely it was. Anyway having found such a gem, we obviously launched an impromptu blog photo shoot.

This outfit was actually flung together in an I must leave the house in 10 minutes rush, but I think it’s a winner. A perfect cute sunny day outfit.

I found the skirt in a cool 2nd hand shop in Glasgow’s southside. The print & colours appeal to my hippy dippy side & also pairs great with my favourite cardi. Topped off with my ghostbusters t shirt it makes for an easy to wear ensemble for a chilled day.

Pretty Flamingo….

I had a lunch date on Saturday with my Dad & Sister. We made the excellent decision to try The Butterfly & The Pig and the even smarter choice of ordering a delicious bottle of rosé. The food was fantastic. They also have tasty gluten free & veggie options, which was lovely for me. Anyway after much gabbing & laughing we emerged back onto to Bath St looking for a good photo spot.

After a little shopping & some head scratching we plumped for a wee lane. It offered us some protection from the wind whilst also being a funky urban backdrop.

My sister had her work cut out for her as I was dissatisfied with picture after picture. However, we eventually  hit on just the right pose & positioning.

I’m incredibly fond of my spikes. They take this basic Jersey top to the next level. I am equally charmed by this bondishy belt. Be that as it may, nothing compares to the love I feel for my flamingo hair clip. I’m not usually one to latch on to trends, but the flamingos I am seeing everywhere make my heart beat faster.

Spring/Summer wishlist…

The shops are filling up with their spring/summer collections & I am excited. I seem to be gaining in experimental confidence and cannot wait to try some new looks.

I am delighted about the surge in velvet pieces, I basically want velvet everything. Play/jumpsuits have hopped up my want list. I’m a later adopter, but can’t wait to rock some all in ones this summer. Florals, funky flats & my go to skater shape are must haves. Add to that killer going out dresses plus some of that 70’s vibe and you have my coveted new season looks.

Yellow light…

Last Saturday I awoke to lovely bright day. I was excited, perhaps winter was coming to an end. I raided my wardrobe for some bright & hopeful clothing. I came up with this yellow  & green combo, which I was loving. However, by the time actually made it out the door the sky had turned grey. Sensing an impending chill I added this lovely new cloakigan.

I also donned my new favourite thing, flatforms. I was rocking these delicious shoes first time around. There is something very pleasing about knowing your 14yr old self would approve of your sartorial decisions. I will absolutely be collecting some more flatforms. I think my next pair need to be higher to get that authentic early 90’s I might break my ankle feel.

Regardless of the weather we managed to have a lovely day. I accompanied my sister to get her new tattoo, which you can admire on her blog, Living in a boxx

Walking the dog….

Last Saturday I had the pleasure of taking Seb for another walk. I was joined of course by Seb’s Mummy & my darling Bil bob. We all had a really good carry on and the main man got a lovely long walk.

It was very cold, but the rain held off until just before we got back in the car. I opted for my standard winter strategy of layers. I have always been a tad cautious of horizontal stripes due to their notorious widening reputation. However, my mum bought me this vest top & I rather like it. That’s one more reason for me to ignore all those stupid fashion rules!

You can’t see them clearly in the pictures, but I was also wearing these amazing Asos poodle earrings.

Step into my office, baby ….

I had a fairly important meeting last week & whilst I don’t really do corporate, I did want to look smart. I opted for this colourful, but almost conservative look.

Unfortunately I hated every single picture taken of this outfit, but have opted for the least offensive. Note the big, fat side bun, a recent innovation I’m enjoying.

Bag – Accesorize

This is my go to presentation bag as it fits my NetBook & everything else I need. I also love it’s giant tassel. The only downside is once it’s all in there it weighs a tonne.

You’re hot then you’re cold….

I had to take a trip into town on Thursday & was faced with my usual winter problem. Bitterly cold outside & sauna hot in all of the shops. Why can’t shops turn down their heating? They know we’ll all have coats on.
Anyway, I opted for the chunkiest, cosiest best cardigan in the world. I have been dying to try out this fluffy skirt since I bought it, but haven’t been sure what to wear with it. I tried a hard and soft thing with the leather look leggings. I also debuted my shiny patent brogues. I love the colour, but I think they make my feet look really big. What do you think?
We took the pictures at one of my favourite places in Glasgow, The Gallery of Modern Art.

Twinkle, twinkle…

Today I overcame some spectacular heartburn with the aid of some sparkly boots. I’m now convinced that all manner of things may be achieved when your feet are not only warm & dry, but also just a teeny bit twinkly. I headed out with sister to engage in some party planning & ended up having a really lovely day.

So, after buying many, many balloons & a few less avocado maki we nipped out to river for some photographs. Today’s outfit was a mixture of the old & the new. I’ve gone down two sizes, so I’m now fitting into this lacy vest, which I kind of love mainly because it makes me boobs look perky. I have always been a big fan of the stretchy mini, fling in a busy pattern & I’m sold. Last, but not least is my brand new, super cosy cardigan. It’s a tiny bit starsky & hutch, but oh man is it warm.

Up on the roof….

I succumbed to cabin fever on Saturday night & took a taxi into town to see a film with my wee sis. I tried my best to get dolled up, but I’m not sure I was entirely successful. Anyway, it felt good to be out .this

I opted for this amazing tassle vest. I adore the electric blue, it gives a real kick to a simple black outfit. I teamed it with this dip hem skirt & a cosy black cardi to keep out the October chill. Our shoot failed to get off the ground due to a down pour, so we headed up in the air to get some photographs. The cineworld in Glasgow is, bizarrely, the tallest cinema in the world, which makes a great back drop for cool chicks in cool dreads.

Despite some bemused onlookers, I even managed a shimmy. Nothing beats shaking your tassles.

Oh & we saw ‘A walk amongst the tombstones’. It wasn’t incredibly original, but I like Liam Neeson & a thriller always pleases me. I’d say it is worth a watch.
