Sale of the century …..

I haven’t had much of a chance to check out all the high street sales yet, but I did find the time peruse the Asos sale. And what a sale it was. So many adorable things for hardly any pennies. I’ve placed my first order, but I have more items saved for later, which are likely to end up in my already over stuffed wardrobe.

These are the beauties I am awaiting.

I’ve not really been a fan of the duster coat trend, but this one spoke to me (it said ‘buy me’).

I’ve been prevaricating about sheer for a while now. I’ve seen lots of folk look awesome in it, but was concerned the scars on my tum would be visible. Well, the long & the short of it is, I said ‘fuck it’. Can’t wait to rock this.

This is standard choice for me. All things red must be mine & this style of dress is uber flattering on me. It’s wool, so should help me through some cold days.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/20f/30616662/files/2015/01/img_1395.png
I only ordered the trousers. I don’t really have use for another floral type jacket. I desperately wanted palazzo pants all summer, but couldn’t find a plus size pair I both liked aesthetically & felt good in. I know these are out of season, but I shall save them for summer. Or with a bit of luck I’ll wear then on my next Aussie trip.

Last & most definitely best is this leather look jacket. You may remember my failed search for the perfect leatherish jacket, well failed no more! This is right in every single way, it even has some yearned for faux fur. I need this on my body ASAP.

Thanks Asos Curve I love you & your fabulous fat clothes!

The fire is so delightful….

We popped over to Dad’s on xmas eve & I took the opportunity to have an ootd pic by his festive fireplace. Dad always has lovely decorations & a very tasty selection of nibbly bits at Christmas time. Obviously a pretty dress was required for the occasion.

I decided to drift away from the traditional xmassy colour palette & opted for this rose print skater dress. I am feeling strangely drawn to all things yellow at the moment, which led me to the dress with this vibrant cardigan. I love the way it brings out the yellow in the dress, whilst simultaneously makes the purple tones really pop. I suspect my Dad is often bemused by my style choices, I thought I’d give him a xmas treat by putting my spin on one of his sartorial favourites. Enter my burgundy patent brogues & the most shoe compliments I have ever received from my Father. Great minds think alike, Daddy cool !

Wishin’ and hopin’….

The festive season is almost upon us & my mind has been pondering the notion of having some fun. Along with the usual seasonal celebrations I also have some important birthdays in December including my fabulous best friend & my darling youngest sibling. My darling sister will be 30 this year & she’s having a big fabulous party. I am determined to go uber luxe for these occasions & with this in mind I have created a party wishlist. Some of these are serious contenders & others are just me dreaming.
I have had hankering for velvet for a while. I’ve always adored it, but it’s popularity has definitely waned in recent years. Wearing velevt never fails to make me feel sexy. It is so tactile & lush. This sleek navy dress screams old school glamour. I have a feeling the side gathering detail will be flattering as hell on my body. I can’t wait to try this on & hopefully strut my gorgeous stuff in it over christmas. I feel a dress this sumptious need some simple show stopping accessories, these Biba earrings certainly fit that bill. Sadly at £1750 they are likely to remain on my wish list.

Layers do it for me especially if one or more of them are sheer. This evans dress is genuis, sparkly gold, sheer, built in cover up. Three big ticks from me. Similarly this layered Elvi top is so simple, yet striking. Elvi is actually a new find for me, so far, i am impressed.
Irregular choice are pretty much the only shoes I want on my feet & this pair are perfect in every way. They are currently sold out, but i am hoping against hope that they come back. How can anything go wrong when you have unicorns on your feet?

Faux fur seems like the obvious choice when playing the luxury bitch. Monsoon’s classic shape & colour make their take it on it a winner for me. I’ll definitely need to try before buying as coats are always a tricky fit with my boobs.
I am actually pinching myself over this Lovedrobe flapper style dress. I can’t believe it is so affordable & available in my size. A futher bonus is that this art deco type design is tailer made for a big event I have later in the year. I am snapping this one up immediatey & calling it fate.IMG_1060.JPG

These are my wild cards. They do not fit with my hollywood starlet theme, yet i can’t prevent myself coveting them. The shoes speak for themselves, what woman in her right mind would not want her feet adorned with these masterpieces? If anyone out there wants to have me at their beck and call those shoes are the key. The poodle clutch is so not me. I don’t go in much for cutesy or pastel. However my Mother happens to have to stunning standard poodles who would turn cruella deville into a dog person. Coco & D’artagnan have captured my heart & simultaneously opened it ip to kitch handbags.
Last but not least is another Elvi piece. Whoever thought up the ‘coatigan’ , I owe you a drink. Bright orange cosy coolness are all things i need in my wardrobe.

Twinkle, twinkle…

Today I overcame some spectacular heartburn with the aid of some sparkly boots. I’m now convinced that all manner of things may be achieved when your feet are not only warm & dry, but also just a teeny bit twinkly. I headed out with sister to engage in some party planning & ended up having a really lovely day.

So, after buying many, many balloons & a few less avocado maki we nipped out to river for some photographs. Today’s outfit was a mixture of the old & the new. I’ve gone down two sizes, so I’m now fitting into this lacy vest, which I kind of love mainly because it makes me boobs look perky. I have always been a big fan of the stretchy mini, fling in a busy pattern & I’m sold. Last, but not least is my brand new, super cosy cardigan. It’s a tiny bit starsky & hutch, but oh man is it warm.

Up on the roof….

I succumbed to cabin fever on Saturday night & took a taxi into town to see a film with my wee sis. I tried my best to get dolled up, but I’m not sure I was entirely successful. Anyway, it felt good to be out .this

I opted for this amazing tassle vest. I adore the electric blue, it gives a real kick to a simple black outfit. I teamed it with this dip hem skirt & a cosy black cardi to keep out the October chill. Our shoot failed to get off the ground due to a down pour, so we headed up in the air to get some photographs. The cineworld in Glasgow is, bizarrely, the tallest cinema in the world, which makes a great back drop for cool chicks in cool dreads.

Despite some bemused onlookers, I even managed a shimmy. Nothing beats shaking your tassles.

Oh & we saw ‘A walk amongst the tombstones’. It wasn’t incredibly original, but I like Liam Neeson & a thriller always pleases me. I’d say it is worth a watch.

Hey, I put some new shoes on….

Unfortunately I am still ill. It’s frustrating & not a lot of fun. It also means that I haven’t been going anywhere other than medical appointments & the corner shop, which accounts for my lack of posts. I finally ventured out today to do a little shopping with my mum. It’s the first day in weeks that I have looked half decent, so I took a little selfie to share.

Almost everything I wore was a huge bargain; god bless 70% off sales. The t-shirt dress is incredibly comfortable & may well be my new favourite casual dress. I wanted to add some grey to my wardrobe now that it’s getting chilly, this works perfectly. The belt is also new & is basically the belt of my dreams. I may well wear it with everything.

My adorable new shoes also arrived today. I could not wait to try them. They jumped straight out of the box and onto my feet. I purchased them online from JustFab. I have been seeing a lot of their ads recently & was curious. Their every pair for £35 struck me as little too good to be true. However I was pleasantly surprised after having a neb. Their heels aren’t really my thing, but I loved their flats & boots. As an introductory offer I got a two pairs of shoes for £35, which is an excellent deal by anyone’s standards. I am totally satisfied with the quality & fit. They also have a large selection of non-leather shoes, which is great for veggies. The small disadvantage is that you have to remember to log in every month & declare if you’re not buying anything, otherwise they charge you (the charge is applied to your account as credit). Other than that I would definitely recommend giving JustFab a bash.

Paint it black…

i am off to a fancy hotel for my friend’s wedding later today. I am looking forward to my little mini escape. Before I jump in the shower I just have time to dash off a quick blog post.

On Friday I finally got to see Cold in July. I highly recommend this film. It is impossible to describe as it starts as one thing & morphs into something else. It has a great cast & brilliant twists. Go see it.

It was drizzly on Friday, but still really stuffy, tricky weather to dress for. I opted for this tunic dress. It’s light and comfortable with some really pretty embroidery. I stayed monochrome with my jewellery, but couldn’t resist pairing my dress with these star print leggings.

Bits & Pieces…

I was going through my clothes trying to clear a little space in my packed wardrobe when I came across a skirt I had forgotten I owned. I’m not sure how I managed to forget this skirt as on discovering it I instantly fell in back in love. So, I immediately changed outfit & wore it to see a movie with my wee sister.

The red kimono I wanted to wear with it was in the washing machine, so I decided I would experiment with some pattern clashing. I quite liked the outcome.

I really love the fish taily detail on the back of this skirt; it makes it a bit more special. I am also infatuated with my new floral print kimono, I bought a size up as I wanted it to be loose & oversized.

20140701-145201-53521332.jpg

I teamed my mismatched clothes with my all-time favourite sandals & tried something new with my hair, which turned out ok, but will need a little practise to perfect.

I wanted to see ‘Cold in July’, but my darling sis was very keen to see ‘Maleficent’. She won the movie debate in the end. It’s a sweet take on a fairy tale, but it’s essentially a kid’s movie, which is really not my thing. Next time I will definitely be choosing.

Lazy sunday afternoon, got no mind to worry….

Over the last few weeks I have established a new Sunday ritual. My lovely friend Bil comes over for a gab, some food & a drink or two. It’s a perfect relaxing Sunday. I really enjoy cooking & especially love feeding people yummy food. I have been trying some new recipes from Delia’s vegetarian collection. Yesterday we had cheese & herb fritters with balsamic jam, which was delicious. Equally yummy was the frozen berry daiquiri we washed it down with.
It’s still rather hot in Glasgow, so I popped on one of my favourite skater dresses. It’s so comfortable & easy to wear. It also happens to look pretty good. I wore some little black short under it because it is fairly short & also to guard against the dreaded ‘chub rub’.
We took the pictures in my back garden, which the gardener has just rid of weeds. I think if this weather keeps up a barbeque is in order.

Lazy Sunday Afternoon Small Faces

Parklife….

I am dog sitting this week. My brother’s dog, Ringo (I named him) has come to stay. He’s a gorgeous boy. He is very affectionate & loves a good sleep. I love having him and as auntie ly spoils him rotten, he loves being here.

20140609-024410.jpg

So, today I thought I would combine a trip to the park with a little blog photo shoot. My dear friend billy was my photographer & companion. I think he might enjoy Ringo’s company more than mine.

20140609-154719.jpg

The weather was fairly pleasant, the sun really wanted to break through, but didn’t always manage. In any case it was warm enough to dispense with jackets & break out a new maxi skirt. I picked up this skirt on my recent charity shop trawl. It appeals to my hippie sensibilities & as I am trying to expand the blue section of my wardrobe, it was a must have. I teamed it up with my favourite Beatles vest & my nude flats. It’s a great comfy, but cute outfit.
