Despite now having approximately 5 million pairs of glasses, there are still always quirky new style that catch my attention. Luckily for me Firmoo*have very kindly sent me the ones I had my eye on.
First up these prefect sunnies. Since I need prescription sunglasses I often get fed up changing from regular to sunglasses when I go from out to inside. Enter these magnetic frames. They come with various shades that click on right into my regular specs. I took them on holiday & they were so convenient. Bonus points for them being the a huge hit with my niblings; they adore playing with the magnetic shades.
Since I had a really late holiday, when I returned it was already spooky season. To get into mood I have been wearing these devilish little specs.
Finally I picked something a little different for me. I just liked all the colours and the shape on the frames. They’re give my big auntie vibes.
If you’ve been around for any time at all you’ll know that I love statement specs. If I have to wear something every day you can be sure it is going to be funky.
I’m always on the look out for my next pair of glasses. So I am very lucky to have been gifted these pairs from Firmoo*. I have a soft spot for cat eye and a retro a vibe. These green and diamonte frames are a dream.
I’m equally besotted with a tortoiseshell frame, so obviously I couldn’t resist these beauties. The shape just works on my face. I think they will pair well with everything.
I’ve not long returned from a little getaway, which was wonderful. I’m know chasing my tail a little with every day stuff. Why does housework never end? Once I find the bottom of my laundry basket I will share my adventures.

A little later than usual, but tonight we embarked on our Halloween tradition. My sister & I have been taking the boy to GlasGlow every year since he was born. This years theme was Ghostbusters & we loved it.
Kelvingrove Park & the Botanics are pretty all year round, but with added light show they’re spectacular.
The boy flipped when he saw the stay soft mallow man & ghostbusters car, but he declared the scary pumpkins his favourite part. I was rather taken with the giant mirror ball and of course I enjoyed how flattering the wall of lights is.
This year was much easier for me as they had added way more places to sit as you walk around. They also have ‘glow passes’ that allowed disabled folk to skip queues/take shortcuts as needed. Plus they even had blue badge parking. Tip top job of making the event accessible.
My nephew likes us all to wear skeletons, so my new jumper was perfect. Worn over the comfiest playsuit with tights & cosy tartan coat.

I suppose spooky season is now really over. Best kick my Xmas organising up a gear.
If you like what I do you can support me here or on Patreon.
I’m not a let’s start Christmas as soon as Halloween is over type. However, I do have a tonne of folk to shop for. The only way I can get through my list sans breakdown is to start early. So, yeah I am that person who is Xmas shopping in October. My always messy spare room becomes a crazy Santa store room. Thus I give you the first of my gift lists.
The majority of my Xmas gifts are for kids. I am a big proponent of supporting small business & I do buy extras from them. Let’s face it, often little ones want the latest craze toy. My first suggestion ticks that box. Two of niblings went nuts when they saw the advert for the Mega Chomp Shark. It’s basically a remote controlled shark that chases people around. I doubt my sister or bestie will thank me for introducing this chaos to their homes, but what are Aunties for? I cannot wait to be chomped as they will inevitably set their sharks on me.
Next up is slightly calmer and offers educational value. It’s one of those sneaky toys that hides all its skill learning in fun. One of my nephews absolutely loved Geomag. It started when I was very kindly gifted a magnetic set for him to try when he was smaller. He now favours the mechanical range. You can build whole courses with bridges, catapults and more. He is going to flip when he sees the collection I have for him.

Strong Girls Club is more in keeping with my usual shop small ethos. I love the story & aim of this brand, namely to empower girls & women. I applaud any effort to bolster confidence and break gender stereotypes in our little ones. Strong Girls have the cutest clothes for kids and Mum’s. If you like a bit of twinning you’ll love them. They also have fabulous games, toys and books all in keeping with their mission.
Last, but not least is Hey Doodle offering fun, reusable colouring mats. They come in a little pouch that makes them perfect for on the go entertainment. Each mat holds hours of doodling & colouring fun and then can be wiped cleaned for next time. I know a pair of toddler twins who are going to love them.
It’s been a while since I did a week in pictures. Mainly because I have not been doing anything all that exciting. I have had a few family dos of late, so I’m doing a share.
First up was my youngest nibling’s first birthday party. The first year of these baba’s life has gone at lightening speed. They have been an absolute delight from day one and continue to be wee darlings. They are now very much on the move, starting to find words and full of fun. Their party was lovely. The babies enjoyed their new toys, grown ups enjoyed a cuddle and bigger kids loved running riot.

Following on the family fun theme I had a gorgeous Easter lunch with my Mum, Sister & her boys. My sis made a superhero afternoon tea with plenty of vegan friendly options for me. The boy opened some Easter gifts and then we set off to his swing park for a bit of carry on.
After all that activity, I required a wee bit of rest. I had a quiet few days at home. Wore my comfies, tried to finish some work and painted my nails. I also had some yummy comfort food & bought Bronan some new catnip, which went down well. Strangely it also increased his paper fascination.

Thursday brought some Auntie time. My sister needed me to watch the boy for a few hours in the morning. This worked out perfectly as it gave him an opportunity to try out the blocks that Geomag* kindly sent me. I had intended to get a few of my littles to try them out, but this boy fell in love with them. He played all morning, took them home to play all afternoon too. The Magicubes are magnetic blocks that connect and hold on all six sides, meaning kids can build anything with them. I’ll definitely be buying more for the rest of my nibling gang.
Very pleased with his dog and dinosaur
I finished off the week with blood boost. A transfusion can be a nuisance, but necessary. Ultimately I am very grateful to have access to the medical care I need. Plus it gives you a good excuse to stay still and listen to a podcast all afternoon. I came home to huffy cat (annoyed that his dinner was late) & a lovely sunset. Not the wildest Friday night, but I’ll take it.
Last week I received a very exciting parcel from the gorgeous people at Navabi. It contained a dress so beautiful that I could not wait to get it on my fat body.
I’m a dress girl. I wear dresses most days, so I know a good frock when I see one. This is a polka dot dream. It skims my curves perfectly & makes me feel luscious.
I’m wearing a size 22 and it fits beautifully except around the bust. If you have a bountiful cleavage you may want to size up. Alternatively you can follow my example and slip a camisole underneath.
I’ve worn it casually with tights & flats, but its definitely an all rounder. With heels & sleeker hair this flirty hemline would be ready to party. Expect to see me styling this beaut 101 ways.
I like the colder seasons. Autumn is my favourite and I’m into a bit of winter too (until I’m stuck outside in the freezing rain). I get cold really easily, but I do love the opportunity to do a bit of layering to stay cosy.
Wrapping up warm doesn’t mean you have to have ditch flare. Every layer is a chance to add interest. I look at it as creating multiple outfits in one. Case in point this Fashion World ensemble*.
I’ve been dying to get my hands on some red leopard print. I’m not usually one for following trends, but this season’s big hit is so up my street. This plisse skirt is just so cool. The blunt hem & wide waist band make it strides ahead of your standard maxi skirt. Worn with a super fitted denim shirt it’s the perfect trundling though burnished leaves get up. Unbutton that shirt (or whip it off altogether), the rubberesque body suit is fully revealed and the ante has been upped considerably. This baby is very ready to hit the town.

Both the body & maxi are perfectly sized. You’re going to want to size up on the shirt, though. Also, please note, the denim & body suit is a toasty combination.
Of course I had to get the autumn/winter palette on my fingers too. This week’s nails are a coppery dream
