When there’s something strange…

A little later than usual, but tonight we embarked on our Halloween tradition. My sister & I have been taking the boy to GlasGlow every year since he was born. This years theme was Ghostbusters & we loved it.

Kelvingrove Park & the Botanics are pretty all year round, but with added light show they’re spectacular.

The boy flipped when he saw the stay soft mallow man & ghostbusters car, but he declared the scary pumpkins his favourite part. I was rather taken with the giant mirror ball and of course I enjoyed how flattering the wall of lights is.

This year was much easier for me as they had added way more places to sit as you walk around. They also have ‘glow passes’ that allowed disabled folk to skip queues/take shortcuts as needed. Plus they even had blue badge parking. Tip top job of making the event accessible.

My nephew likes us all to wear skeletons, so my new jumper was perfect. Worn over the comfiest playsuit with tights & cosy tartan coat.

I suppose spooky season is now really over. Best kick my Xmas organising up a gear.

Dancing in the dark…

GlasGlow is back. We have taken the boy every year of his life, so this has become our own little Halloween tradition. This year was even better than last.

Large moon and coloured lights.

The boy was proper excited and dancing around; utterly adorable. It wasn’t too crowded and people paid attention to social distancing. The rain even almost went stopped for us. It was lovely.

It was a bit of struggle for me to get around the park. Post covid I’m even less mobile. I found some places to sit and took periodic rests whilst the little man enjoyed the lights.

Much fun was had. Now I’m in recovery mode and jammies all weekend.

Make me glow…

I have a sad that Halloween is over, but I do have one last seasonal post. It is of course our new Halloween tradition, GlasGLOW. Gone are the days of horror burlesque & tequila shots. Nowadays my sis & I take the boy to get our glow on and he loves it.

This year’s GlasGLOW is even bigger and better. It is comprised of 9 different works. All with their own spooky light show. We skipped the zombies as sounded a bit much for the baba, but otherwise suitable for all ages.

UFO & spooky lights

The boy’s favourite was definitely walking through all the dangly lights. Auntie la la’s was the disco in kibble palace. Some old school dance tunes reminded of my wilder Halloween nights whilst still offering an opportunity for me to have a wee seat.

I loved all the wee local nods & the attention to detail is spot on. The boy had so much fun rascalling around in the dark. If you can still get tickets, it’s absolutely worth it.
