More is more…

Despite now having approximately 5 million pairs of glasses, there are still always quirky new style that catch my attention. Luckily for me Firmoo*have very kindly sent me the ones I had my eye on.

First up these prefect sunnies. Since I need prescription sunglasses I often get fed up changing from regular to sunglasses when I go from out to inside. Enter these magnetic frames. They come with various shades that click on right into my regular specs. I took them on holiday & they were so convenient. Bonus points for them being the a huge hit with my niblings; they adore playing with the magnetic shades.

Since I had a really late holiday, when I returned it was already spooky season. To get into mood I have been wearing these devilish little specs.

Finally I picked something a little different for me. I just liked all the colours and the shape on the frames. They’re give my big auntie vibes.

* GIFTED.

Birthday Bitch…

September is a bumper birthday month around here. My own slips in right at the end, so I am now 44yrs old. How did that happen?

Anyway, I think I’m doing ok for an old bird. On Sunday we had a big lunch with cake, presents and the whole shebang. Obviously I had to smash it with my outfit and I did! Perhaps you’re not supposed to blow your on trumpet, I do not care. I looked gooooood. You’d never guess I’m middle aged.

I’m feeling pretty strange about this whole mid 40’s thing. I don’t know how I got here so fast. I need someone to catch up the ly in my head. She still feels like her twenties were five minutes ago. Except they also feel a lifetime ago too. It’s very confusing in here. Reckoning with mortality and all the things that are behind me is tough. It’s just as well I’m such a hottie; takes the sting out of it.

Love me, love me…

My favourite purveyors of fine spectacles recently celebrated their 7th birthday. They very kindly offered me a frames for $7 deal that I immediately snapped up.

Now obviously I don’t need new glasses, but I wanted some. These heart shaped delights were calling out to live on my face. Of course I obliged and now look how happy we are together.

If you know me at all you will know that I like to make a big statement with my glasses. The newest additions to my face wardrobe are no exception.

I took advantage of my affiliate* points & and excellent 2 for 1 offer to treat myself to a whole new look. I simply cannot resist a retro bejewelled frame, so these ones are no brainer.

I am naming these specs ‘Rich Spinster Aunt’.

Staying big, but going a bit sterner on the angles are these beauties. You can’t go wrong with sharp monochrome.

My week in pictures…

Autumn has officially arrived and I couldn’t be happier. This is definitely my favourite season. I love that first chill in the air, the rich colours and of course all the spooky fun.

This week I’ve been enjoying that crisp weather & getting out a little bit. I kicked off with a wee (work based) hotel stay. What do you do alone in a hotel on a Sunday night? Mess around & take pictures obviously.

I took advantage of already being in town to meet to with a my favourite man. Covid has meant I have seen him much less than I’d like. So, tapas, wine & chat was perfect. I also took the opportunity to debut the first of my spooky bargains. I kind of want to wear this bat playsuit every day now.

Wednesday brought a midweek adventure in the firm of Frankie Boyle. My sis & I took in his Work in Progress at Glee Club. He was of course hilarious. If e your things, get a ticket. His support, Christopher MacArthur-Boyd is also chuckle worthy. If sharp political commentary & utterly repulsive comedy are your thing, get a ticket.

I concluded the week with a tea party to celebrate my besties’ twins. I’m never happier than when on Auntie duty. Bigger niblings got on with some carry on whilst a bunch of women coo’d over the babas. It was a good Sunday.
