Once, twice…

This week I have managed to leave the house twice AND look cute both times. That is an auspicious happening these days. It also means the return of the outfit posts. I can feel your excitement from here.

First outfit of the week was a forgotten dress. I think I got this from a thrift shop, I could definitely be wrong. In any case when I spied a corner of that print in the wardrobe I wanted it on. Super comfy, super curves, tiny bit too booby. It’s a solid A- dress and I won’t forget it again.

This dress saw me to my long awaited hair do. I haven’t stepped foot in a salon in 18months, so my locks were longing for a chop. With my raggedy ends gone & layers refreshed I feel like a new woman.

Dress number 2 hasn’t been out of the wardrobe for a while. It’s still a summer fav. Little bit ballet & a little 90s Gap adds up to a lot good. Always love wearing this one.

And apropos of nothing, if you get the chance to sprawl on a big swing in the sunshine, do it.

Bells will ring…

I have a couple of weddings to attend this winter & nothing to wear. In my panic to rectify that situation I have stumbled upon some new plus size high street options. I now have a new problem, which of these gorgeous dresses do I buy?

Quiz has never really been on my radar, mainly because I had no clue that they stocked my size. Colour me delighted to discover they actually have a Curve range that goes up to a 26, which includes these wedding ready party dresses. I’ve narrowed it down to one of these beauties.

Debut is a brand I had never even heard of. I discovered them via Debenhams website & I am so pleased that I did. They have really flirty cocktail dresses, again topping out at a size 26. I did manage to whittle my favs down to two, but I doubt I’ll ever be able to choose between them. I can has both, yes?

The biggest revelation has been the Lipsy Curve range. This is a brand I have previously castigated for having impossibly small sizes. It warms my heart to see how far the plus size revolution is spreading. They have a really excellent selection of going out dresses, ranging from funky to formal. I am lusting after quite a number of their dresses, but these are my wedding picks.

I am famously indecisive, but these frocks have got me stuck. Help a girl out, which would you choose?

Sway me more….

Earlier this year I invested in 50’s style underskirt to go with a swing dress. Little did I know how enamoured I would ge one with it’s flouncy loveliness. It feels amazing. With every movement I swing & sway.

Me being me I am tickled by notion of mixing things that really shouldn’t go together. Thus the ultimate floaty skirt found itself teamed with an avid yellow vest & customised nirvana tee.

One look that picture tells you all you need to know about how much one enjoyed this outfit. I wish I could feel like that everyday.

Such a perfect day…

I love a wedding. I love them even more when I adore the couple getting hitched. So, I was pretty excited about my big brother’s big day. I really wanted to go all out & look fantastic, I think I might just have pulled it off.

I went retro. I found a beautiful swing dress that is absolutely perfect on my curves. I then enrolled a professional to give my hair & face an amazing 50’s makeover. I felt wonderful.

It was a perfect day. The sun shone, the champagne flowed & love was in the air. Having our niece & oldest brother home from Australia made the day even more special. My cheeky little muffin could not resist popping into my blog shoot.
