It was all yellow…

The lovely people at Hotter Shoes & Taking Shape invited me to an event this week. I was pretty sore on Wednesday & wasn’t sure I would make it, but I am so glad I pushed myself.

Taking Shape is a company I had a little experience with as I checked out their stores when I was in Oz. I hadn’t had a chance to peruse their Glasgow store, so their collection was all new to me. The store is a pleasure to shop; clearly zoned, neat, sleek & lovely big changing rooms. The staff are knowledgeable & refreshingly chirpy. So far, so good.

Regular readers will be aware that I have a penchant for colour. Taking Shape gets a big tick in the brights box. They also easily check off size, fit & variety. There are enough daring pieces to keep a weirdo like me happy, but also plenty of staples. The arrival of a little sun has me drawn to vivid yellows & sheer fabrics, so this top was perfect. I snapped it up & wore it the very next day.

The accessories are also on point. Their range of bold statement necklaces really pleased me. I will definitely be back to stock up.

I have to give big props to the PR team who were a dream. Special mention also goes out to the my fellow bloggers who were charm itself & rocking some amazing looks.

Oh & of course a peek at how I wore my sunny new piece.

I really love the cut at the bottom.

Spring Forward….

I wish Spring would hurry along. Not just because I am perpetually freezing, but also because there are crazy cute pieces filling the shops. Here are a few beauties I cannot wait to get on my body.

Lavish Alice, Diamondoodles (Etsy), Yours Clothing, Simply Be.

Barnes, Asos, AmyBlueIllustration, Simply Be.

Meg Biram, Lindy Bop, Forever21, Feminist Apparell.

Primark, Asos Curve, Asos, Lindy Bop.

As soon as there is the slightest hint of spring in the air I am going to be one chic, flirty babe.

Bobby sox to Stockings….

I had high hopes for Saturday. My darling sister & I planned to visit the costume exhibit at Kelvingrove. As it’s so beautiful there we of course scheduled a blog shoot.

The pouring rain was our first impediment. Rain, especially when accompanied by roaring wind, is no friend to just styled hair. What really scuppered our plans was the discovery that the exhibit closed a week ago. Unfortunately these inconvienances rendered us both grumpy & squabbles ensued.

We pulled ourselves together & ended up getting some good shots. A rainy Saturday in Kelvingrove was too crazy for us, so we repaired to an Italian for lunch & then headed to the cinema. All was well.

As you know, I like to experiment with retro pieces. I love the print & shape of this skirt. It’s just on the right side of mumsy. Pairing it with a simple vest kicks it up a gear. While topping the look with a flower crown adds just a touch of whimsy.

Pink, it’s not even a question….

It feels like forever since I have done an outfit post. I keep wearing my funkiest looks when I have no photographer. Anyway, here’s a cosy wee number I put together for a walk with my sister & Seb.

This skirt & t shirt are bargains from a recent haul. The ‘sorry, not sorry’ print amuses me & woolly skirts keep my bum warm; what’s not to love?

I also discovered that if you feel a bit dodgy pink lipstick will go a long way in perking you up. This bright hue is from Nyx, whose products I am fast falling for.

I actually can’t stop wearing this skirt. It’s just so perfect for this time of year. So, here’s a sneaky wee selfie of another look.

How cute am I?

Mistletoe & wine….

Things are a tiny bit hectic at the moment. Honestly, it’s been one of those years. Anyway I find myself with two large house guests & no time for interesting outings or outfits. So, here is my obligatory Christmas jumper post. I wore this on a visit to my Dad’s on Xmas eve. I’m rather sad I’ll have to wait a year to get it out again.

I wanted a nice festive pic with my dear old Dad, but in classic ly style I have my eyes shut in every one. Dad looks good, though.

Oh & if you were wondering about those visitors, they snore, but they’re very cute.

She wore blue velvet…

I took a little time out of being spoiled on Monday & snapped some pics. It was a bright sunny day & I was sporting a bright sunny outfit. So, click click.

Vest – Primark

This outfit was a bit of a rush job as I faffed around all morning & then had to jump in the shower with only 40 minutes left to get ready. I have to say though, I am quite pleased with the results. My all time favourite skirt, paired with comfy vests & galaxy leggings totally works.

Under the sea…

Last night I treated my darling Billy to tres yummy dinner at Cote. We indulged ourselves with all three courses & it was delicious. We also took the opportunity to have thorough gripe about all that is wrong out worlds. Well, the French are famous for being bitchy, right?

I went for a colourful cute look with plenty of room to accommodate my jam packed tum. I had been saving this mermaidy t shirt for sunny days, but it has become clear that summer ain’t happening, so I just layered it up.

I have managed to stand in a serious of unflattering poses in the pictures, so I’ve been forced to opt for the best of a bad bunch. I really did look cuter than this, you’ll have to take my word for it!

Am I right ladies?!

Ever since I saw a clip on Facebook I have been dying to see Luisa Omielan. If haven’t heard of her, she’s an hilarious feminist , body positive comedian.

My sister & I had an awesome night her show. I can not recommend enough that you go see her. Sge is exactly what I (& I’m sure many others) have been crying out for. A no holds barred, cut the bullshit take on life as a women. You will not only laugh, but leave feeling better about yourself.

T-Shirt – Monsoon

Cardi – Monsoon

To see my favourite comedian I wore my favourite skirt. I am glad velvet has made such a big come back. Rios little skater is just wonderful. I added a little bit of rrraarr with an animal print cardi, which was a gift from my very stylish Mum.

I was very chuffed to get a selfie with the lady herself at the end of the night. Just look at my smile, that says all you need to know about the show.
