More is more…

Despite now having approximately 5 million pairs of glasses, there are still always quirky new style that catch my attention. Luckily for me Firmoo*have very kindly sent me the ones I had my eye on.

First up these prefect sunnies. Since I need prescription sunglasses I often get fed up changing from regular to sunglasses when I go from out to inside. Enter these magnetic frames. They come with various shades that click on right into my regular specs. I took them on holiday & they were so convenient. Bonus points for them being the a huge hit with my niblings; they adore playing with the magnetic shades.

Since I had a really late holiday, when I returned it was already spooky season. To get into mood I have been wearing these devilish little specs.

Finally I picked something a little different for me. I just liked all the colours and the shape on the frames. They’re give my big auntie vibes.

* GIFTED.

Is it cos I’m cool…

It’s the happiest of Fridays because I received one of my very favourite deliveries. It is new glasses day!

I was particularly excited for this arrival as it contained a lost love replacement. I lost my beautiful lounging leopard in a fainting disaster. I was genuinely upset to break them and even more gutted that I couldn’t find a replacement. Woe was me.

Farewell Leopard Friend

Today the mourning is over. There’s a new leopard friend on the block. Slightly different shape and with eyes that gleam. I give you the ‘Merle’.

Dedicated follower of fashion…

The fashion aspect of this blog has been lacking of late. I’m a pj’s all day girl at the moment and I’ve given up buying new clothes as there’s nowhere to wear them. I have however been aching for a little pick me up. Enter face fashion.

I decided it was time for some new glasses. I’ve fancied something bold and blue for a while. I was chuffed to discover the perfect pair. Little bit retro & a lot blue.

Whilst I was looking I stumbled upon a bargain than I could not resist. These tortoiseshell pretties joined my collection too.

She’s got some wild…

My need for interesting spectacles is unending. I’ve been feeling a bit shitty of late and decided some new eyewear might cheer me up. I jumped on my favourite site for quirky lenses and was not disappointed.

These beauties definitely put a smile on my face. I have received compliments far & wise. Plus my nephews love them. What more could I want?

They didn’t solve any problems, but I certainly look adorable in them.

A face like that…

If, like me, you find your vision is increasingly weak with each passing year you will understand the importance of excellent specs. The entire world is just a messy blur when I remove my glasses. Thus, I have to wear them every second I wish to actually see. As a person who finds it difficult to commit to one style, a permanent accessory can be tricky. Enter Where.light, the answer to all my spectacle prayers.

Folk always think I’m getting paid to talk about Where.light because I’m so enthusiastic. I’m not; they’re just that good. They have the widest range of frames (from plain to me & beyond) at the most reasonable prices. The prescription lenses are spot on and they’ll even do you tinted prescription for hardly any extra. If you wear glasses and you don’t check them out you are a fool.

Anyway, In times of flux I reach for new frames like others reach for a new hair do. My hair is unchanging, my face fashion can always be shaken up. This time I opted for really big, really bright & kind of sparkly. I’m in love.

Matching clothes & eyes…

I’m on a little bit of tortoise shell kick at the moment. It started with a really beautiful bag that my lovely bestie gave me as a birthday gift. Next I spotted some earrings and before I knew it I was completely enamoured with the pattern.

I found the perfect matching phone case and then I just happened to stumble upon (ok, I kind of went looking) the most fantastic tortoise shell glasses. They came from my favourite spectacle website where.light. The world is a total blur without my glasses on, so I have to wear them all the time. Hence, I like a variety of frames. The latest addition to my collection are a total boon. The matchy matchy look is making me feel spiffing.

Portrait of me…

Last week I received a package that thrilled me. I commissioned a portrait from the incredibly talented Spunk Rock Star. She is an artist I discovered on Instagram & can not get enough of.

My portrait is, of course wonderful. I selected a picture of myself from a few summers ago. I had spent the day on the most beautiful beach with special people and felt completely content. Helen (aka spunk rock) totally captured that serenity. I can’t wait to get it framed & find it a perfect spot to live.

Having a stunning portrait of myself feels very decadent. I can’t recommend it enough. If you want to take my advice, Helen will not disappoint. She also creates super sexy kink art, which I just love. Her Etsy has great sales regularly, you can pick up originals, prints & even these very cool pins. The very best way to support independent artists is to buy their work. I think for a long time I was a little intimidated by the idea of commissioning art, but I am so glad I got over that. I’ve bought some brilliant & unique pieces from artists (mostly found on insta) this year. I definitely intend to continue because it’s doubly satisfying; you get an exceptional hand crafted item & you know you supported someone in doing the thing they love. It’s a good feeling!

A pair of little magic glasses…

I’m mostly a go big or go home girl. I won’t wear one colour when I can wear three. I won’t pick elegantly understated over weirdly wow. This is absolutely the way I approach choosing glasses.

I probably have too many pairs of specs, but I don’t see me being satisfied with my collection anytime soon. Every time I see bold & extravagant frames, I want them. Thus I introduce to my latest ocular obsessions.

Cat-eyes are my favourite shape & blue was a colour I did not have. Need I say more?

I don’t usually buy prescription sunnies because I always lose them, but these were just too amazing to resist. I adore these so much that I might just manage to hang onto them.

Both pairs of glasses are from where.light who are my current purveyors of crazy spectacles.

Friday quickie…

It’s been a tricky week mostly taken up with hospital adventures. Thus most of my plans were scuppered. In amongst all my stomach misery a gem arrived; my new specs!

I ordered them a few weeks ago & had honestly forgotten just how fabulous they were. I stuck with my favourite cat eye shape, but amped up the embellishments. Man alive, do I love them.

These beauties are from where.light. They have an incredible range of styles at very reasonable prices. Delivery takes a few weeks, but they are really worth the wait. I haven’t found anything of a similar quality & WOW factor in this price range. I’m already trying to work out which frames to order next.
